The explanation is simple, but the reality is tricky: Monitors use RGB to display images, but printers use CMYK.

Colours on a monitor screen may not necessarily be indicative of ink on paper or other mediums. Your monitor's colour calibration and brightness can also affect how you see your artwork on screen (or may appear different from monitor to monitor). We can tell you from experience that CMYK prints the same colour rather consistently without a lot of variation but take into consideration that there is a 3% variable.

Long story short, it should give you a fairly good idea of the print colour but it might not be a 100% match.
